Mustang, the former Himalayan kingdom, only opened for trekking in 1991. Lower Mustang trekking offers an excellent opportunity to see fully local culture, barren landscape with gray and yellow rolling hills eroded by the wind, similar to the Tibetan Plateau. Mustang is also known as the forbidden Himalayan kingdom of Nepal. While trekking in lower Mustang, the view of windswept Kali Gandaki Valley, vast space around Kagbeni and vast ridges that straggle high mountains provide beautiful lifetime experiences. The trek showcases a last bastion of Tibetan culture with stunning natural landscapes.
